  • Welcome To Sri Jagadguru Peetham

In Hindava culture snakes have very prominent role. Lord SRI MAHA VISHNU used to sleep on ADISESHU in KSHEERA SAMUDRA (WHITE OCEAN) LORD PARAMESWARA wears snakes (Nagu pamu) as his necklace. LORD GANAPATHI wears snakes his waist belt. LORD SURYA BHAGAVAN who is considered as PRATHYAKSHA DAIVAM (Direct God) i.e., SURYANARAYANA ties snakes as one of the threads to his RADHAM (Eka Chakra Radham) ONE WHEEL CHARIOT. Actually this is very specific thing that Lord SUBRAHMANYESWARA is worshipped in so many countries till today as THE LORD OF SERPANTS. He has other names like Karthikeya, as he took birth during Karthika Masam and Kumara Swamy and Skanda. Lord Subrahmanyeswara Swamy is worshipped by both Vaishnavas and Saivas. Some people believ Maha Vishnu ie he is considered as incarnation of SRI MAHA VISHNU. It is not mistake to that Lord Subrahmanyam - Karthikeya as auspicious quality (Subha Swarupa) that is why he is considered as a real God - so that word is not exaggeration i.e., we are not exaggerating him by saying that he has Gnana - Iswarya, Sakthi, Bala, Veerya and Tejassu i.e. (Wisdom, Prosperity, Power, valour and greatest brightness. In this way Hyndava Itihasa says that Sri Shanmukha is Parabrahma. (Greatest God of Creation). As per this belief snakes in India are worshipped.
